DOWN THE MEMORY LANE!

DRSIS celebrated its Founders’ Day by taking a trip down the memory lane. The highlight of the day was a speech by our CMD Sri Dayanand Agarwal Ji who traced the school’s humble beginnings down to a determination to defy all odds!

The event began with the school song, a beautiful invocation dance and a welcome address by the Vice Principal, Mr Rudolf Noronha who encouraged the gathering to embody the school motto, ‘Strive to Surpass’. Rushvik of Grade XII, who has been since with the school since the beginning of his schooling, thanked the Founders on behalf of the student body and alumni, saluting the CMD’s visionary spirit, the leadership he has shown and his commitment to family values and roots.

A song by the Primary Wing was then followed by the official release of the Yearbook 2016-17 and the first issue of our newsletter ‘Footprints’ for the new academic year. Teachers who have demonstrated loyalty by serving the school for many years were also honoured and a cake was cut to signify the celebratory tone of the day. Ms Janet Fanaian, who has been in-service for the last 11 years gave a moving speech about the intrinsic nature of the fulfillment teaching brings about and the impact loyalty can have in an organization that seeks to give, and thus prospers. A fusion dance by our students to the tune of ‘Despacito’ brought this segment of the event to a close.

The CMD, Sri Dayanand Agarwal Ji then delivered a memorable address in which he recounted his story of singular determination and the effort that has gone into bringing both the school, Edify and the group of companies to the heights they have reached today, being on the verge of an international expansion. He expressed his deep gratitude for the Almighty and nostalgically narrated the story of setting up the school against all odds. He also reiterated the importance of earning respect rather than wealth. He also remembered the valuable contributions of Mr Gulab Ramachandani in the making of the school.
