Decoding ‘Diseases’!

A field trip is a great way to show our students that science is not just a school subject. It’s integral to their daily lives and its fun too! On Monday 18th June 2018 we took our students of Grade IV to the Health Museum and Department of Horticulture to understand different aspects of diseases through live presentations. The museum had many exhibits, models, charts and other displays related to different types of diseases as well as measures to prevent diseases. The museum visit strengthened our students’ inquiry and gave them more information to work with and explore. The students also visited the Department of Horticulture where Mr. Srinivas, the resource person, shared information about how microbes affect plants and cause diseases. The field trip not only deepened our students understanding of diseases and microbes but also increased their empathy for those affected by them.
