The students of DRS Community and Humane club visited the Special service centre – Autism friendly Village Ashram at Shamirpet, Hyderabad on 4th February 2017. The ashram provides day and residential rehabilitation and remedial services to people with Autism.
Students at the centre were given back to back activities like aerobic dance, ADL training, Hydrotherapy, Games, etc. Our students joined those students in aerobic activities. Our Children were assisted by the caregivers to help the students in the colouring activity. Students watched a cartoon movie with 3D animation – Good Dinosaur. DRSIS students gifted smiley badges, colouring books and snacks to the inmates of the centre.
It was an informative and eye opening trip for the club students. They not only became aware of Autism and the need to be sensitive to them but also learnt that little more efforts will go a long way in making people around us happy.
