OBEDIENCE TO RULES ENSURES SAFE LIFE

There are “RULES”, “Rules” and “rules”. Some rules are mandatory and you cannot avoid them. Other rules are cautionary and some informatory. The rules are for our safety, comfort and ease. The onus of protecting ourselves and our families lies with each one of us. It is the safety that is the main purpose of rules. There are a few thumb rules that protect us from vagaries of traffic and other accidents. Obedience to rules is a potential insurance to a healthy and longer life.

During the “Value Education Program” that focused on obedience to rules and regulations, the booklet of traffic rules with traffic signals along with a grand musical video with most freaky accidents set the students of DRS International School ablaze with care and concern for traffic rules. Everyone had a story to narrate about the accidents that they or their dear ones were involved. It is noted that the biggest human killer is not Cancer, Zika or AIDS. It is road accidents. The Global status report on road safety 2015, reflecting information from 180 countries, indicates that worldwide the total number of road traffic deaths has plateaued at 1.25 million per year. In India there are 1,46,133 accidents every year that makes it 400 per day. According to RTA report Telangana state is one of the biggest accident centers in India with 7,110 fatal accidents annually.

Urgent action is needed to achieve the ambitious target for road safety reflected in the newly adopted 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals: halving the global number of deaths and injuries from road traffic crashes by 2020. Parents role in this regard would be to strictly not to hand over vehicles to their children who are not eligible to drive by law and also to be role model in following the rules.

BE SAFE, FOLLOW TRAFFIC RULES.

LIFE IS TOO PRECIOUS TO LOOSE IT BY BREAKING A RULE.
