Have you ever suffered from Procrastination (putting things off until the last minute)? Or you notice you are watching too much TV and feeling lazy? Behave well only when you are watched? Disregard rules? Lack enthusiasm? Have no plan to do things? Do whatever you feel like doing?
A few simple and practical strategies can ensure success for everyone. When the people lack self discipline, they tend to delay or leave the important job to do the less important or less difficult .Self discipline brings you freedom. You get things done efficiently so you don’t have to scramble at the last minute. Here are a few strategies for success.
For students
Have the right attitude. Students who complain that the subject matter is boring miss the main point. It is not the subject or the teacher who will make the course interesting. Interest is a matter of your attitude. If you bring an inquiring mind and a positive attitude to your studies, you will find learning exciting, challenging, and interesting. If you wait passively to be entertained you will find learning a chore.
Step 1: Success is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.
Step 2: Setting up a schedule prevents procrastination.
Step 3: Keep a specific location for study
Step 4: Review your study progress on a weekly basis.
Step 5: Motivate your studying with short immediate reward
Step 6: Be alert to activities which may reinforce bad study habits or bad rewards
Step7: Have the right attitude of self discipline. Don’t wait for people to push you.
We need to build a shelter of confidence for our children to grow into successful people. Help your children through building a collective self-confidence. People who pursue excellence are self-confident. This is because excellence requires tremendous faith in one's ability to do more and in a better way. We cannot do anything unless; we believe we can do better.
Give constant genuine encouragement.
Check their task regularly and attentively to know their progress.
Motivate them through showing interest in their smallest sign of progress.
Your constant watch enables you to give timely corrective measure.
Show your trust in your child by not nagging
Believe in your child’s ability and never use put downs.
Be a role model and start your own routine
